Another police officer, whose voice is alleged to be on an audio tape containing a plot to depose the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has testified before a parliamentary ad hoc committee examining the case.

“I also have the same information that the IGP agreed upon with Bugri Naabu after Bugri Naabu went to inform the IGP that someone wants your position…” According to Supt. George Asare.
Earlier, COP Alex Mensah told the committee that the IGP has a complete and authentic recording of the purported plot to depose him.
COP Mensah, whose voice is on the tape, stated that the recording that was leaked to the public was doctored.
He informed the parliamentary committee investigating the tape and its contents that he had proof that the IGP planned the recording and released it himself.
Superintendent Asare offers to testify in private.
During an in-camera interrogation, Superintendent Asare told the bipartisan committee that he is eager to provide more information on his intelligence that the IGP is behind the secret.
