Amah commended the traditional ruler – a retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, for his pioneering role in the mobile police squadron even as he called for royal blessing.
His words : “I stand before you today, humbled and honored, not only as the Commanding Officer No. 23 SQUADRON FHQ ANNEX, KEFFI STREET, LAGOS but also as a representative of the many men and women who have donned the uniform with pride and dedication.
It is with deep reverence that I acknowledge your pioneering role as the first Commanding Officer of our esteemed squadron. The foundation you laid, the values you instilled, and the legacy you left behind have become the bedrock upon which we continue to build. It is a testament to your vision and leadership that we are here today, bearing the mantle you once held with such distinction.
In recognizing the invaluable role that traditional institutions play in policing our beloved nation, Nigeria, I am reminded of the adage that says, “The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.” Your Royal Highness, the palace has been that home, a beacon of unity, tradition, and wisdom.
