JUST IN: Pastor Lazarus Muoka, Founder, Lord’s Chosen Ministries: Why Nnamdi Kanu should be released immediately

General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in the interest of peace and reconciliation.

The cleric made the appeal at the headquarters of the church in Ijesha, Lagos, during the church’s two-day Holy Ghost international crusade, with the theme, ‘God That Does What No Man Can Do.’ He stressed that the President’s intervention and Kanu’s release would bring peace to the region….CONTINUE READING

Muoka said: “For peace to reign, and for us to have peace in that part of the country South-East where there is insecurity as a result of Kanu’s continued incarceration, I pray that God will touch the Federal Government mind to release him so that we would have peace, progress, and unity in the region.”

The General Overseer also pleaded with the Federal Government to fix the dilapidated Ijesha Bridge, Lagos which collapsed two years ago without intervention from any quarter.  He lamented that lives have been lost due to the bad state bridge, Muoka said: “That footbridge is strategic because many people make use of it daily. Since it went bad, it has exposed a lot of users to danger.” He said, people going to Ijesha make use of that bridge, likewise people going to Festac, including the church members and members of other churches around too.

He also spoke on other issues during an interaction with journalists. VERA WISDOM-BASSEY was there.

What is your opinion on the continued incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) who has been in detention for long?

I want to let you know that for us to have peace in that part of the country, in the South East, Nnamdi Kanu must be released. As a result of this and for other reasons, I want to appeal compassionately to the Federal Government that God Almighty will touch them to release him so that we will have peace in the East.  For Progress and Unity.  So, I want to personally plead for his release.

Are you saying that once Nnamdi Kanu is released, there will be more peace in Nigeria?

Once he is released, all these killings and kidnappings will stop, especially in the South East.

People living in this part of the state have been experiencing hard times for more than one year since the collapse of the Ijesha Bridge. How has this affected the church?

That particular footbridge has been a strategic one, which leads people to Festac area and to the church.  We also have our church, and many other churches around. The last time the footbridge had issues, about nine years ago, the federal government gave it attention immediately. But this time around, nothing has been done. So, I want to appeal to the Federal Government to give it attention, because many lives have been lost, and are still being lost because of the way the bridge is now.  Please I want to appeal to them to come to our aid and repair the footbridge, so that the lives of Nigerians that are going through there every day could be saved. We want them to please do something fast.

If the Lord’s Chosen Church should be allowed to make repairs, would the church be interested in fixing the bridge?

That is a Federal Government project. Our government has the resources to fix it. They can do it for us. Chosen as a church cannot do anything. It’s government that can do it.

What about the churches close to the area? Why can’t they come together to fix the bridge?

That is not a church project, so churches around cannot fix it. It is a government project. But we will continue to pray for them, pray for our nations and our rulers.  It is the responsibility of rulers to take care of us.  So, the bridge should be taken care of.

What is your message to the world?

My message to the whole world is that only God has the solution to all things, peace, progress, unity, and wherever we need peace in this life to survive and make heaven at last, only God can do it.”

Let everyone embrace him, giving ourselves totally to him for usage. Very shortly the trumpet shall sound. We should get saved and make heaven at last. All I want to let you know is that persecution helps to further the gospel, it is a necessity for the church, and God has made it that all that shall be godly in this life shall suffer persecution. So, it’s inevitable, except you are not ready to live a godly life. When there is persecution, the gospel spreads more than when there is none.

How important is this crusade being the second phase of the church?

Very, very important. At every point in time, God rules the earth by his prophecy and by his servants. As long as God puts projects for a theme, God has something to achieve for humanity, and the Bible says by prophecies God brought Israelites back to Egypt, and by the prophets, he preserved them in the wilderness. And that is to say, they were all guided by the word of the prophets.  What we have on hand is the programme of God. We believe God has something for humanity at large. Very shortly, the trumpet shall sound and there are many outstanding in the lives of the people and those outstanding is what man cannot do. God is the only one that has answers to them.

In the real sense of it, to achieve this mandate for many souls to be saved and make rapture of the saints, that is God’s project, and many things that the devil has put in the way of humanity this end time, for anybody to overcome it,  for him to have victory over those challenges, “Only God can do it.”   Looking at the scriptures, it says, “in the last days, perilous times shall come.”   A lot of challenges will be to fulfill the prophecy of the end time.

For anybody to overcome these challenges, only God, no man can do it.  Therefore what is happening in society today, needs God’s intervention, and by this very theme of our programme, and with these testimonies ongoing, it is very clear that only God can do it.

What is your advice to Nigerians?

My advice to Nigerians is for them to draw closer to God, and fear him. They should know that it is only God that can bring peace unity and progress. Let them fear God and live according to the will of God. Let them get saved and be ready for the rapture, for Jesus is coming very soon….CONTINUE READING
