BREAKING: Defence Headquarters: Military Rejects Requests to Overthrow Bola Tinubu’s Administration

The democratically elected government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not overthrown, as requested by the coup plotters, according to the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).

Statement says reports calling for military intervention in national democracy are highly unpatriotic, evil and attempt to deflect the Nigerian Armed Forces from carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.

He said the military “is happier and better off under democracy and will not engage in any act to sabotage the hard-earned democracy in our country.”

The statement reaffirms that “AFN, under the leadership of the Chief of the Defense Staff, General CG Musa, is determined to ensure the full submission of the Armed Forces to the constitutional authority in accordance with Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not be distracted from his clearly defined role in the 1999 constitution.
