Breaking…. Emir of Ilorin confirms commencement of Ramadan fasting tomorrow, sues for unity

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has urged Muslim faithful in the Ilorin Emirate to continue to support the nation and her leaders in order to overcome all the challenges in the society.

The Emir also urged them to extend charity and support to the less privileged throughout the month of Ramadan and enjoined them commence this year’s fasting tomorrow (Monday).

He spoke on Sunday night at a joint meeting held by the Ilorin Emirate Council and the Council of Ulama, held at the ancient palace of Ilorin.

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari spoke to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar,  Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Garbai Ibn El-Kanemi in order to substantiate the commencement of the 2024 Ramadan fasting tomorrow (Monday).

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari thanked Allah for His mercies on the people of Ilorin Emirate and humanity at large.

He urged Muslim ummah to use the month of Ramadan to move closer to Almighty Allah by engaging in good deeds, charity, humanitarian services, supplications as well as seeking forgiveness at all times.blank

He however, congratulates them for witnessing another glorious month of Ramadan, stressing that such privilege should be used to foster peaceful co-existence among religions adherents in the state.blank
Speaking with journalists shortly after the council meeting, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh (Dr) Sulyman Onikijipa (OON), who spoke to journalists shortly after the meeting urged the Muslim of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to endeavour to observe the Ramadan fasting in line with the teachings of Almighty Allah and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)<<<READ FULL ARTICLE>>
